Google’s popular “Nano Banana” image editing model — praised for keeping faces consistent across AI-generated photos — is expanding rapidly. After integration into Google Search’s AI Mode and Google Lens, new code in Google Messages v20251009 shows plans to add Nano Banana there too. A Banana icon now appears when long-pressing images in chats, hinting that AI-powered image generation is coming soon to Google Messages.
