iOS 26.2 adds enhanced alerts for earthquakes

Apple’s upcoming iOS 26.2 adds a new Enhanced Safety Alerts setting under Notifications. It lets users enable earthquake and imminent threat alerts and optionally share their approximate location with Apple to improve accuracy and response speed.

The update expands on existing Government Alerts and introduces a new alert tone in the latest developer beta.
