According to Bloomberg, Tesla is still working on adding CarPlay support to its vehicles, but the rollout has been delayed by technical challenges. The main issue involves syncing between Apple Maps and Tesla’s own navigation system, especially during autonomous driving.
Tesla asked Apple to make changes to Apple Maps to improve compatibility, which Apple implemented in a bug-fix update to iOS 26 and the latest CarPlay version. However, adoption of iOS 26 has been slower than expected, meaning not enough users yet have the necessary updates installed.
As a result, there is still no official launch date for CarPlay in Tesla cars. The company is likely waiting for iOS 26 adoption to increase before releasing the feature, though the report confirms that CarPlay support is still on the way.
