Google has officially rolled out its AI Inbox feature in Gmail to users in the US, expanding access beyond early testers. However, there’s a major catch: it’s only available with the premium Google AI Ultra subscription, priced at $249.99 per month.
Currently labeled as a beta feature, AI Inbox doesn’t function as a traditional inbox. Instead, it summarizes incoming emails, highlights key topics, and suggests tasks based on your messages.
The feature is powered by Gemini, meaning users must trust the AI to accurately capture important information without missing or inventing details – something that still raises concerns.
It remains unclear whether Google will bring AI Inbox to more affordable plans in the future, though that seems likely.
