OpenAI has officially ended its long-standing exclusivity with Microsoft, marking a major shift in one of the AI industry’s biggest partnerships.

Despite the change, the partnership is far from over. Microsoft will remain OpenAI’s primary cloud partner and retain access to its models through 2032—but now on a non-exclusive basis.
