Gemini Intelligence will bring deeper AI-automation to upcoming Samsung foldable devices

Google Gemini is evolving beyond a simple Android chatbot into a system-level AI assistant that can perform tasks across apps and services. According to a new report, Samsung’s upcoming foldables — the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 — could be among the first devices to fully showcase “Gemini Intelligence” with One UI 9.

The AI is designed to automate actions between apps, such as reading a grocery list from Samsung Notes and automatically adding items to an online shopping cart. Foldables could especially benefit from this, as Gemini may manage multitasking, summarize information, move content between windows and handle actions side by side on the larger display.

Although Gemini Intelligence is missing from the current One UI 9 beta, Samsung is reportedly saving it for the stable release. Questions still remain about reliability, privacy and whether users will truly adopt these AI-powered features long term. Still, if Samsung and Google deliver on the vision, foldables may finally gain an AI experience that feels genuinely useful.
