Google is rolling out a major update to the Fitbit app, rebranding it as Google Health 5.0 on Android. The update introduces a new Home screen Quick Access widget that replaces the old Steps widget and shows up to six key health metrics, with options to customize or shrink the layout.
The redesign also adds a new Google Health icon while gradually removing Fitbit branding from the app (which will remain only on hardware). Version 5.0 is required for upcoming devices like the Fitbit Air, with the rollout starting May 19 and completing by May 26.
