Google and Samsung have unveiled their first Android XR AI smart glasses at I/O 2026, developed in collaboration with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker. The device will come in two distinct designs.
The glasses run Gemini AI and enable hands-free voice interaction for navigation, nearby recommendations, messaging summaries, calendar management and even placing orders. They also support real-time translation for conversations as well as text and signs, along with photo and video capture via an integrated camera.
Like most smart glasses, they act as a companion device paired with a smartphone and feature a single camera with an LED indicator.
The AI smart glasses are expected to launch later this fall, with more technical details to be revealed in the coming months.
