Xiaomi is expanding its paid battery upgrade program to the Xiaomi 13 series, offering higher-capacity batteries for older devices instead of pushing new upgrades.
Battery sizes increase noticeably: the Xiaomi 13 goes from 4,500mAh to 4,850mAh, the 13 Pro from 4,820mAh to 5,361mAh and the 13 Ultra from 5,000mAh to 5,500mAh. The upgrade costs about 189 RMB (~$28) including labor.
There are some trade-offs – slower charging, occasional delays when powering on from empty and temporary system adjustments after installation. Still, the program provides an affordable way to extend device lifespan, offering a refreshing alternative to constant hardware upgrades.
