A new “quality index” for streaming services developed by MoffetNathanson ranks Apple TV ahead of Netflix in overall content quality. Unlike traditional engagement metrics that focus on total viewing time, the index evaluates factors such as viewing at peak hours, content demand, franchise strength, critical prestige and live or sports content.
In the first rankings, Disney led by a wide margin, while HBO Max and Apple TV closely followed in second and third place, with Apple just ahead. Netflix ranked slightly lower but remained competitive, ahead of Amazon, Peacock and Paramount+. Apple TV is priced at $12.99 per month or included in the Apple One bundle.
