DJI and Insta360 are suing each other

DJI has filed two lawsuits against Insta360 in a Texas court, accusing the company of infringing both design and utility patents. The claims focus on Insta360’s newly launched Luna Ultra and Luna Pro cameras, which DJI says closely resemble its Osmo Pocket series in both design and functionality.

According to DJI, Insta360 copied patented elements including the camera’s physical design, gimbal controls, subject tracking and image-based motion features. DJI is seeking damages, a share of Insta360’s profits, and additional compensation. The lawsuit follows an earlier patent dispute between the two companies in China involving drone imaging technology.

Insta360 has countersued DJI, alleging that it has violated five utility patents.
