Samsung has announced a major update to Samsung Health, transforming the Galaxy Watch into a more proactive and personalized health companion. The update begins rolling out on June 8 and is expected to be fully realized with the upcoming Galaxy Watch 9 series.
The new features use AI to provide meaningful health insights rather than simply collecting data. A new Vitals feature analyzes overnight metrics such as heart rate, respiratory rate, skin temperature and blood oxygen levels to detect significant changes in a user’s health.
Samsung is also introducing Heart Health Score, Daily Cardio Load and Fitness Index, helping users better understand cardiovascular wellness, training intensity, and overall fitness. The Samsung Health app is being redesigned with dedicated sections for Sleep, Activity, Nutrition, Mindfulness and Vitals.
Additionally, a new Hearing Health feature will offer personalized hearing protection insights based on environmental noise levels measured by the Galaxy Watch. Samsung also hinted at more AI-powered health tools that could arrive alongside the Galaxy Watch 9 lineup.
