Apple’s digital driver’s license feature, announced in 2021, is gradually expanding across the US. Currently, users in 14 states and Puerto Rico can add a driver’s license or state ID to Apple Wallet.
Support is expected to expand to Kentucky, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Utah and Virginia, while Connecticut and Mississippi have also been linked to Apple’s plans. Several other states, including Indiana, Florida and Nevada, are exploring digital ID programs but have not been confirmed for Apple Wallet.
Apple also offers a Digital ID based on a US passport, which can be used at TSA checkpoints in more than 250 US airports.
