Apple is adding several new features to Apple Pay with iOS 27, making it easier to manage cards and complete purchases. The redesigned checkout interface lets users quickly switch between cards, view them in a grid, and see details such as rewards, balances and payment options.
Apple Pay also now supports using American Express Membership Rewards points to pay for purchases, with 10,000 points worth $70 toward a purchase. A new Tap to Share feature allows customers to securely share information such as contact details, shipping addresses and loyalty rewards with participating merchants using an iPhone.
Select banks will also let users add money to supported debit cards directly through Apple Wallet. Meanwhile, Walmart has finally started rolling out Apple Pay support in the US, with nationwide availability expected by the end of 2026. Sam’s Club is also joining the rollout.
