Samsung says Galaxy Z Fold 8 sales are 30% ahead of its predecessor

Samsung says combined US purchases of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Fold 8 Ultra are currently 30% higher than sales of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 over the comparable period. The two book-style foldables account for around 80% of Galaxy Z8 series purchases in the US.

The Galaxy Z Flip 8 is attracting a different audience, with about 30% of buyers switching from competing brands. Most of these customers are reportedly buying a foldable for the first time.

Samsung also says the Flip series is helping introduce users to its foldable ecosystem. Compared with the Z Fold 7, more than three times as many Z Flip users are now upgrading to the Z Fold 8 or Z Fold 8 Ultra.

The figures come just as Apple is expected to enter the foldable smartphone market, giving Samsung an opportunity to highlight its eight generations of experience in the category.
