Appeals court upholds Apple’s win in Servant copyright case

A US appeals court has upheld a jury verdict clearing Apple and director M. Night Shyamalan of claims that the Apple TV+ thriller Servant copied Francesca Gregorini’s 2013 film The Truth About Emanuel. The filmmaker had sought up to $81 million in damages.

The court rejected her appeal, ruling that the original trial was properly handled and that the jury’s unanimous verdict in Apple’s favor should stand.
