Samsung SmartTag 3 adds iPhone support and improved tracking

Samsung has launched the SmartTag 3, its latest tracker with a major new feature: support for iPhone users through the SmartThings app. While some features remain exclusive to Galaxy devices, iPhone users can access the tracker’s core finding and sharing functions.

The SmartTag 3 is 35% smaller and 33% lighter than its predecessor, with up to 550 days of battery life. Its enhanced directional finding can work from around 200 feet away, supported by Ultra-Wideband and Bluetooth 6.0 Channel Sounding.

A new Place Notifications feature also lets users receive alerts when a SmartTag enters or leaves a predefined area. The tracker starts at $29.99, with US availability expected in early November.
