Qualcomm and Google are partnering to bring generative AI to cars through a multi-year collaboration, developing a standardized platform for AI-powered in-car experiences. This platform, built on Android Automotive OS, Google Cloud and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Digital Chassis, will enable features like intuitive voice assistants, personalized navigation and real-time driver updates. AI capabilities could suggest breaks if the driver gets drowsy or provide information on nearby landmarks. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Cockpit Elite and Ride Elite chips will enhance vehicle displays and AI performance, offering up to 3x performance improvements.
