Amazon will shut down the Prime Invitee program

Amazon is ending its Prime Invitee program on October 1, cutting off the option to share free shipping with people outside your household. Instead, Amazon wants users to switch to Amazon Family, which limits sharing to people at the same residential address.

With Amazon Family, one adult can be added (plus up to four teens and four kids under the same roof) to share a wide range of perks: free delivery, Prime Video (with ads), Prime Reading, Amazon Music Prime, Grubhub+, fuel discounts, and exclusive shopping events.

For current invitees, the only options will be to join a household plan or start a new subscription.
