Global AI glasses shipments tripled in 2025

Global shipments of AI glasses reached 8.7 million units in 2025, a 322% increase, according to Omdia. Meta dominated the market with an 85.2% share, shipping 7.4 million units, driven by strong demand for its Oakley and Ray-Ban branded AI glasses and expansion into markets such as India, Mexico and Brazil.

Mainland China became the fastest-growing market, capturing 10.9% of global shipments with nearly one million units, making it the second-largest market after the United States. Chinese companies such as Rokid and Xiaomi quickly moved into the second and third global positions.

AI glasses with built-in displays also gained traction, with shipments rising to 730,000 units and market share increasing from 3.3% in 2024 to 8.4% in 2025. Chinese vendors dominated this segment, though Meta’s Ray-Ban Display glasses also saw strong demand.

Omdia expects global AI glasses shipments to exceed 15 million units in 2026, driven by new entrants, expanding ecosystems and deeper integration of AI assistants. The next phase of competition will focus on ecosystem integration, better hardware performance and longer battery life, as companies aim to connect AI glasses with broader device and service ecosystems.
