Google has revealed Wear OS 7

Google unveiled Wear OS 7 at I/O 2026, promising smarter features and up to 10% better battery life compared to Wear OS 6. The update will also bring Gemini Intelligence AI features to select smartwatches launching later in 2026.

Wear OS 7 introduces new dynamic widgets, Live Updates for real-time information, improved media controls and easier audio switching between devices. Google is also adding a built-in fitness tracking platform called Wear Workout Tracker, reducing the need for developers to create their own workout systems.

The update also includes the new Watch Face Format v5, making custom watch face development easier. Developers can already test Wear OS 7 through the Canary Emulator ahead of its official release later this year.
