Survey shows Samsung edges Apple in phone satisfaction

The latest American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) study on smartphones and smartwatches shows mixed results for Apple and Samsung.

In the overall “cell phones” category, Samsung slightly overtook Apple with scores of 81 vs. 80. Samsung also led in flagship phones and foldables, while Apple scored higher in legacy devices.

In smartwatches, the two companies were tied at 80 points each. The broader smartwatch category remained stable overall, with strong ratings for fitness tracking, app connectivity and usability.

The study, based on nearly 27,000 survey responses, also highlighted a rising importance of AI features, which scored highly at 85, suggesting they are becoming a key part of user experience.
