YouTube is making AI-generated video labels more visible and introducing automatic AI detection for uploaded content.
For long-form videos, AI labels will now appear directly below the video player instead of inside the description, while Shorts will display AI disclosures as overlays on the video itself. The change is designed to help viewers more easily identify realistic-looking AI-generated or AI-altered content.
YouTube will also begin automatically detecting AI-created videos if creators fail to disclose them manually. However, creators can still remove incorrect labels through YouTube Studio. The update is rolling out now and will soon be available to all users.
