Anthropic and Samsung are reportedly in early discussions about a partnership that would see Samsung manufacture custom AI chips for the AI company. The move reflects growing demand for semiconductors driven by the AI boom, prompting tech firms to seek alternatives to TSMC.
While Anthropic says it will continue relying on Amazon’s Titanium chips, Google TPUs and Nvidia GPUs for now, the company is also exploring custom hardware to support future growth. Similar efforts are underway across the industry, with OpenAI reportedly working with Broadcom on its own AI chip ambitions.
