Samsung’s Hearing Aid feature for Galaxy Buds has received FDA approval as an over-the-counter solution for people aged 18 and older with mild to moderate hearing loss.
The feature uses a clinical-grade hearing test through the Samsung Health app to create an audiogram and identify each ear’s specific hearing needs. Galaxy Buds can then amplify the frequencies the user needs, while noise reduction and beamforming help make conversations clearer, especially in noisy environments.
Currently, the feature is available on the Galaxy Buds3 Pro and Galaxy Buds4 Pro, with future Galaxy Buds Pro models expected to support it as well. The technology could provide a more accessible and discreet alternative to traditional hearing aids.
