Apple may break its traditional iPhone launch schedule by delaying the standard iPhone 18 until 2027, according to a new report citing supplier Pegatron.
The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are reportedly still expected to launch in September 2026, alongside Apple’s first foldable iPhone, potentially called the iPhone Ultra. The standard iPhone 18 could then arrive in Q1 2027, alongside the iPhone 18e and iPhone Air 2.
The reported delay is linked to ongoing chipset and memory shortages, as well as bottlenecks in semiconductor production. If confirmed, it would mark a major change after Apple launched standard and Pro iPhones together for years.
