Apple produced around 52 million iPhones in Q2 2026, marking a 14% year-over-year increase and giving the company a 19% share of global smartphone production, according to TrendForce. Samsung remained ahead with 62 million units and a 23% share.
Global smartphone production fell 8% year over year to 275 million units during the quarter. TrendForce has nevertheless raised its full-year 2026 forecast from 1.05 billion to 1.07 billion units, although that would still represent a 14% decline from 2025.
Apple’s growth was largely driven by strong demand for the iPhone 17 series and its pricing strategy. However, TrendForce warns that expected price increases for the iPhone 18 lineup could affect sales momentum.
The improved 2026 production outlook is mainly attributed to consumers purchasing phones earlier and manufacturers reversing some production cuts, rather than stronger underlying demand.
