Apple has unveiled the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, focusing on refinements rather than major design changes. Both models retain the aluminum frame, 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch 120Hz OLED displays, IP68 protection and a smaller Dynamic Island.
The biggest camera upgrade is a new 48MP main camera with a variable f/1.48–f/4 aperture, improving low-light performance and exposure control. The phones also retain 48MP ultrawide and 4x periscope cameras, while gaining more advanced manual controls in the Camera app.
Both models are powered by Apple’s new 2nm A20 Pro chip, which doubles the on-device AI processing capacity of the previous generation. They also feature Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, Apple’s newer connectivity hardware and improved cooling for up to 40% better sustained performance.
Battery life has improved to up to 36 hours of video playback on the Pro and 45 hours on the Pro Max, with 50% charging in 15 minutes using a compatible 60W adapter. Storage options range from 256GB to 2TB.
The iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199, while the Pro Max starts at $1,299 — both $100 more than their predecessors. Pre-orders begin September 12, with sales starting September 18.
