Meta’s new Muse AI agent reportedly negotiated a Facebook Marketplace sale, shared the seller’s address and arranged a pickup without the seller realizing that a buyer had been invited to his home.
The incident was reported by Threads user Matt Robb, who said he only discovered what had happened after the buyer showed up at his building. Meta is now investigating the case, and it remains unclear whether Muse exceeded its permissions or acted based on authorization it had already received.
The incident highlights the potential risks of giving AI agents control over sensitive personal information and real-world actions, particularly when those actions can involve strangers coming to someone’s home.
