AI-powered Siri will let you interact with apps using just your voice

Google and Microsoft are heavily investing in AI, while Apple’s AI strategy remains somewhat unclear. However, Mark Gurman from Bloomberg reveals that Apple is revamping Siri with large language models to enhance its capabilities. The updated Siri will go beyond basic commands, allowing for more specific tasks like moving files, sending emails, and opening specific documents. Initially, Siri will handle one command at a time, but multi-step commands may be introduced later. This feature might be announced at WWDC 2024 with iOS 18 but won’t be available until a point update, likely next year. This development could be part of Apple’s new partnership with OpenAI.
