Samsung is under investigation after two employees were hospitalized following exposure to X-rays at its Giheung chip plant on May 27th. The incident occurred while using a machine that analyzes materials with X-rays, leading to abnormal symptoms on the employees’ fingers. Although their blood tests were normal, further testing is planned. Samsung has suspended use of the machine and is cooperating with authorities. The NSSC will determine the extent of the exposure and whether any safety laws were violated. This isn’t the first instance of radiation exposure at Samsung, which previously linked a former employee’s cancer to factory conditions and established a compensation fund in 2015.
