Android 17 Beta 4 is now available

Google has released Android 17 Beta 4, the final scheduled beta, now available for all Pixel 6 and newer devices. This version represents a near-final build, focusing on polish rather than new features.

Key updates include improved memory management that allocates RAM more efficiently across apps, as well as Post-Quantum Cryptography support to strengthen future security. The Android 17 Easter egg also makes its debut.

User-facing changes are minimal but include a refreshed “You’re all caught up” message for empty notifications and the return of the “Save” option in the Recents screen.

The update also delivers numerous bug fixes, addressing system crashes, random restarts, slow charging issues, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi problems and overall stability concerns.

Overall, Android 17 Beta 4 is about performance, stability and getting the platform ready for its official release.
