Google could sell nearly 2 million units of its smart glasses in 2026

Google’s upcoming Android XR smart glasses, developed with Samsung and fashion brands such as Warby Parker and Gentle Monster, could become a major success, with analysts predicting sales of up to 2 million units in 2026.

By focusing on stylish designs, Samsung-powered hardware and Google’s Gemini AI experience, the company hopes to avoid the mistakes of its earlier smart glasses efforts. If forecasts prove accurate, Google could become the world’s second-largest seller of AI-powered smart glasses, behind Meta.

Analysts also expect global smart glasses shipments to reach 15 million units in 2026. Audio-only models are predicted to account for 91% of sales due to their lighter design and lower cost, although glasses with built-in displays could drive higher revenue growth in the future.
