Samsung may be working on a rollable smartphone, according to a newly discovered patent. The design features an expandable display and a movable rear camera module that shifts position as the screen extends.
When closed, the device resembles a traditional flagship phone such as the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, but when fully expanded it offers a larger display closer to the form factor of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7.
The patent also describes sensors that can detect changes in screen size and hardware positioning. While there is no guarantee the device will reach the market, the filing suggests Samsung continues to explore rollable phone technology, building on earlier prototypes and concepts shown in recent years.
