To mark Mother’s Day, AT&T revealed that Americans now text their moms three times more often than they call them. According to the company, 75% of people prefer texting over phone calls for Mother’s Day communication.
Houston ranked as the top city for connecting with moms in both 2024 and 2025, followed by San Antonio and Chicago. AT&T says Houston recorded nearly three million more texts and calls than any other city, while six of the top 10 “mom-connecting” cities are located in the South.
