A recent update to Motorola’s Smart Feed app appears to be redirecting users who open the Amazon app from the app drawer through a web link before launching the app, seemingly injecting an affiliate code in the process.
The behavior has been observed on some newer Motorola devices, including the Razr Fold and does not occur when Amazon is opened from a home screen shortcut. Investigations suggest the issue is tied to a recent Smart Feed update, though the exact reason remains unclear. Users can stop the redirects by disabling the Smart Feed app in Settings, while Motorola has yet to provide an official explanation.
