Samsung may be planning a surprising name change for its upcoming foldables. According to leaker Ice Universe, the rumored Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide could launch as the Galaxy Z Fold 8, while the current Galaxy Z Fold 8 model may be rebranded as the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.
The move could reflect the hardware differences between the devices, with the Fold 8 Ultra expected to offer a triple-camera setup, a larger 5,000mAh battery, faster charging and a new 50MP ultrawide camera. However, the naming strategy could also confuse buyers expecting the Galaxy Z Fold 8 to be the direct successor to last year’s model.
Samsung is expected to unveil the new foldables at its Unpacked event in London on July 22.
