Omdia expects semiconductor revenue to surge 94.1% in 2026, driven by booming AI demand and strong growth in DRAM and NAND memory. Memory chips are forecast to generate more than half of all semiconductor revenue this year.
The report says demand for AI chips is outpacing supply, creating shortages in high-bandwidth memory (HBM), advanced packaging and leading-edge manufacturing that could last until 2027. As a result, smartphones, PCs and other consumer devices are facing higher component costs, while AI infrastructure continues to receive priority for chip production.
