Android remained the world’s leading mobile operating system in Q2 2026, accounting for 75% of smartphone shipments, up from 73% in Q1. iOS followed with 20%, down from 22%, while Huawei’s HarmonyOS held steady at 5%.
In the US, iOS narrowly led with 51% compared with Android’s 49%. In China, Android had 58%, while HarmonyOS rose to 24% and iOS reached 18%.
India remained overwhelmingly dominated by Android, which accounted for 91% of shipments, leaving iOS with just 9%.
Counterpoint also reported that global smartphone shipments declined 11% year-on-year in Q2, with the biggest declines seen in entry-level and mid-range devices, particularly in emerging markets.
