Galaxy Watch 9 and Watch Ultra 2 owners report extremely slow charging

A growing number of Galaxy Watch 9 and Watch Ultra 2 owners are reporting charging times of two to four hours, far longer than Samsung’s advertised 80–90 minutes.

The main issue appears to be aggressive thermal throttling, with charging power reportedly dropping as the watches heat up. Some users have even resorted to using desk fans or other cooling methods to speed up charging.

There are also reports of compatibility problems with older Galaxy Watch chargers and third-party charging docks, while some users claim older Watch 6 chargers work better.

The issue does not affect every device, but the number of complaints is growing. Samsung has been contacted for comment about the charging problems and a possible software fix.
