Google has officially launched Tap to Share, an Android feature similar to Apple’s NameDrop. It allows users to share contact information, photos, videos and more simply by bringing two compatible devices together.
For contact sharing, users only need to place two phones close together from the home screen. They can choose which contact details to share or simply receive the other person’s information.
Photos and videos can be shared by opening Android’s Share Sheet and tapping the two devices together.
Tap to Share is currently available on Google Pixel phones from the Pixel 6 onward, as well as Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip8. Google says support will expand to more devices by the end of the year.
