Google has reportedly paid $10 million for a large dataset from the now-defunct Spirit Airlines as part of its effort to improve AI models.
The purchase includes business and operational data, more than 100 million emails, hundreds of millions of Microsoft Teams chats, billions of flight pricing and transaction records, and over 30 million lines of software code.
Google says the data will be rigorously stripped of personally identifiable information before it receives the dataset. Passenger profiles and loyalty program data are reportedly excluded.
