Sony has unveiled the Xperia 10 VIII, but the new mid-range phone offers surprisingly few upgrades over last year’s Xperia 10 VII while costing €599/£549.
The phone keeps the same 6.1-inch 120Hz OLED display, Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, dual-camera setup and 5,000mAh battery. Sony claims the screen is 50% brighter and the stereo speakers are 30% more powerful.
The Xperia 10 VIII does retain some increasingly rare features, including a microSD card slot and 3.5mm headphone jack. It runs Android 16 and is promised up to four major Android updates.
The phone will be available in Frozen White, Frosted Grey and Misty Lilac, with a launch expected in mid to late September.
