Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S27 Ultra could reportedly feature glass with a self-healing coating that can repair minor scratches on its own.
The technology is said to be developed jointly by Corning and Samsung for a future version of Gorilla Armor. The coating could help make small scratches disappear over time, although it may sacrifice some scratch resistance.
It remains unclear whether the self-healing glass would be used on the display, the phone’s back, or both. The technology is also still unconfirmed, so Samsung could change or abandon the feature before the Galaxy S27 Ultra launches.
Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S27 series in early 2027.
