Garmin is rolling out a new software update that adds several useful features to its smartwatches. The Venu 4 now supports all-day fall detection, which can automatically send selected contacts a message with the wearer’s live location. The feature can also be limited to specific activities.
The update also introduces hands-free voice control with the “OK Garmin” command, allowing users to start activities, manage timers and access their smartphone’s assistant.
Runners get new features including Quick Workout and Run Coach plans on the Venu 4, Vivoactive 6 and Fenix 8 series. The update is rolling out now to compatible devices and may take a few weeks to reach everyone.
