Apple’s first foldable iPhone Ultra is expected to debut next week alongside the iPhone 18 Pro lineup. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has revealed several new details about the device.
The iPhone Ultra is reportedly set to feature a 5.5-inch cover display and 7.8-inch inner screen, along with Apple’s latest Pro chip and modem. MagSafe will also be supported.
Gurman says the foldable display won’t be completely crease-free, but should be comparable to Samsung’s latest foldables. Apple has also focused heavily on durability, including a new liquid-metal hinge.
On the software side, iOS 27 is expected to bring iPad-style multitasking, including side-by-side apps and drag-and-drop between applications.
Gurman expects the iPhone Ultra to launch at the same time as the new Pro models or within a few weeks, rather than being delayed until late October or November. The starting price is still expected to be above $2,000.
