Samsung is reportedly developing its next-generation AI glasses featuring an integrated microdisplay, even before launching its display-less first-generation model.
Key Details
Purpose & Display: The glasses will feature an ultra-small microdisplay (0.2 inches or smaller) designed for text, system icons, notifications and navigation arrows rather than high-fidelity media playback.
Technology & Optics: Images will be magnified directly into the wearer’s eye for privacy. Samsung is evaluating OLEDoS and LEDoS panel technologies with 4-bit color gradation to prioritize legibility and lower power usage.
Design Status: Key decisions, such as using a single-eye (monocular) or two-eye (binocular) setup, remain undecided. Timeline: Target launch is set between late 2027 and early 2028.
