Apple has become the second company in history to close a trading day with a market capitalization above $5 trillion, following Nvidia’s milestone in October 2025.
Apple shares rose 0.5% to $342.96, bringing the company’s market value to $5.01 trillion despite a broader selloff in the technology sector. Although Apple had crossed the $5 trillion mark during intraday trading several times before, this was its first close above that level.
The milestone follows several major product launches, including the iPhone 18 Pro lineup, the foldable iPhone Duo and new smart-home devices. Apple’s shares have also gained around 5% since John Ternus became CEO on September 1.
Investors are now looking ahead to Apple’s fiscal fourth-quarter earnings report on November 2, which should provide insight into the impact of rising component costs and recent price increases.
