Students turned Meta smart glasses into facial recognition tool

The Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses look like regular sunglasses but come with advanced tech, such as livestreaming and Meta’s AI. Two Harvard students, AnhPhu Nguyen and Caine Ardayfio, created I-XRAY to demonstrate the privacy risks of these glasses. I-XRAY uses facial recognition to link faces to personal data like names, addresses and more, highlighting how discreet smart glasses could be used invasively. Although the students won’t release the app, their goal is to raise awareness about the potential misuse of such technology.
