OpenAI has launched ChatGPT Search, integrating web search into ChatGPT to compete with Google Search and Microsoft Bing. This feature lets users access real-time information like sports scores, news and stock quotes through links to relevant sources.
Initially available to ChatGPT Plus, Team users and those on the SearchGPT waitlist, it will roll out to Enterprise and Edu users in a few weeks, with free users expected to get access later. This update builds on OpenAI’s earlier SearchGPT prototype, with plans to improve in areas like shopping and travel, possibly challenging Google’s search dominance.
